Project Challenges
Snow is a major threat to safety and business-as-usual. The best case scenario is when a company is able to arrive at your property before the storm so that they are prepared when the snow starts. When contractors do not show up until after the snow has already accumulated several inches – or if they don’t arrive at all – the result can be costly and dangerous. Beyond this, equipment can break down during the job. If there is no equipment available to take its place and no on-demand maintenance protocol available, your roads will continue to be impacted by the weather event.
Project Strategy
Potential plowing problems can be avoided with a team who is not only prepared for the storm when it happens – but before it happens. If there is even a threat of snow or an ice storm we call in crews to monitor the weather so we can be ready. Whether you are dealing with an early-season storm, or a series of heavy snow days in the dead of winter, we are prepared to serve you. Here’s how we do it:
- Comprehensive Fleet: With over 50 plow trucks, 8 front end loaders, 7 skid steers, 2 tractors, plus additional rental equipment, we are ready when needed to make your roads safe for travel even under extreme conditions.
- On-Demand Maintenance: We have several on-road mechanics – and more on-call – during every storm so that we can quickly respond to equipment issues and get back up and running immediately. In case of an unexpected equipment failure that we cannot resolve, we have designated backup equipment ready to go.
- Proactivity: We don’t wait until after the storm starts to make a move. Our monitoring capabilities allow us to have crews on-site before an event starts in order to avoid delays en route to the project site.
- Complete Dedication: We maintain an on-site presence through the storm until final cleanup is completed. The site will be down to pavement within 24-hours after a weather event.
- Equipment Management: All of our equipment is brought into the shop at the end of summer or early fall and our mechanics test, maintain, fix, and clean everything so it is prepared and ready for winter. We begin to move our equipment to the customer sites in October or November so we are ready for an early weather event. We also own trucks and trailers dedicated to moving our equipment, which allows us to mobilize without delay, if needed.
