Salting and Sanding
Ice and snow don’t stand a chance.
Ice and snow don’t stand a chance.
We pride ourselves on proactive salting practices. We monitor for ice and freezing weather from the early season through the end of winter so we can be ready even before the snow begins to fall. If a storm permits, we pretreat the property and apply salt as needed throughout the weather event. Every property gets one last treatment of salt once final cleanup is complete.
If salt is not applied correctly based on the specific circumstances at hand, it will not provide the increase in traction or the melting effect you need. When snow and ice melt during the day, they almost always refreeze at night, resulting in slippery conditions. This means increased danger for travellers if not dealt with appropriately. In addition, when sand is used instead of – or in addition to – salt, it creates a mess that can be costly to clean, especially when used in high amounts over long periods of time, such as during an intense storm.
Einstein’s uses straight salt instead of sand to handle icy roads and walkways. Salting melts ice and snow faster than sand and makes cleanup easier and more cost-effective. However, salting alone will not get the job done. That’s why we employ additional tactics to ensure your site is clear and safe for use. Some of those tactic include:
Let our crews take the stress out of New England’s winter. Einstein’s has several different sized salt trucks equipped with spreaders, as well as sidewalk machines and walk-behind spreaders. With intensive monitoring, consistent salt applications, and superior customer service, Einstein’s ensures that your property is safe all throughout the cold winter months.
